Seiko Prospex Diver's Watch SLA017J1 (Limited Edition)

One of the most highly coveted limited edition watches in recent years, the Seiko Prospex SLA017 is a diver's watch which pays homage to an icon of '60s watchmaking. While the Japanese brand doesn't carry the same prestige as Rolex or Omega, the sheer brilliance of their 62MAS diver's watch (launched in 1965) helped Japan become a credible player in the global watchmaking landscape. Used by the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition, the 62MAS watch was propelled to heights of popularity to match its Swiss contemporaries. Impressive for its time, Seiko's first dive watch was water resistant up to 150m- furthering the watch's status among customers and enthusiasts alike.
Five decades later, the Seiko Prospex SLA017 remains loyal to the design of its famous predescessor. Retaining its simplicity, the new model mantains a central display with contrasting embossed hour hands against a rich black dial, boasting a noticeably strong lume. Its unidirectional rotating bezel features a 60-minute insert with a luminous white dot at 12. Its 39.9mm stainless steel case houses a Calibre 8L35 automatic movement. Its water resistance has increased to 200m.
Limited to just 2000 pieces, the value of this Seiko Prospex from 2017 has surged dramatically- proving to be a great investment watch. It is presented on a silicon strap with a diamond pattern, alongside a stainless steel bracelet, original packaging, paperwork and guarantee.
