Rolex Submariner 5513 (1977)

The Rolex Submariner is one of the most iconic and recognisable vintage watches ever made. Shifting through many different variations over its long lifespan, the Submariner remains a popular model in modern Rolex catalogues. The golden age of vintage timepieces currently spans the 1960s and '70s, where today's most sought after watches were released in this period. The 5513, perhaps the most iconic of all Submariners, was released in the late '70s and is widely revered by the Rolex faithful. This particular example has a serial number displaying '5224xxx', indicating it dates from 1977. Its incredible matt dial displays the rare 'feet first' engraving, reading '660ft=200m' where most Submariners would list the depth in metres before feet. Its bezel insert and 93150 bracelet with 380 end links are some of the many interesting features which this example boasts. Furthermore this watch's desirability is only enhanced by the beautifully aged lume, which is totally unique to this piece.
Presented in a service pouch, this late '70s Submariner is one of the finest we have encountered. It remains in outstanding condition and presents a perfect opportunity for a lucrative investment.
