Rolex Submariner 16610 (Pre-Ceramic Rehaut Bezel) with Box & Papers

The 16610 Submariner Date enjoyed a long production run from 1988 until 2010 when it was discontinued in favour of the newest generation of the Submariner Date- the 116610 model. Introduced to the Rolex catalogue in 1953, the Submariner soon became one of Rolex’s most iconic releases- praised for its robust and utilitarian design. Its breath-taking combination of glossy black and steel is one which has been heavily admired for 65 years and will continue to thrive in years to come.
This particular 16610 from 2009 is referred to as the last of the pre-ceramic series, featuring instead an aluminium insert as opposed to the modern ceramic bezel. Furthermore 2007 to 2009 marked a point of transition in the design of the 16610 through the inclusion of the desirable branded rehaut- the ‘ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX’ engraving located just under the crystal around the dial.
An incredible piece from a time of important transition in the famous Submariner’s history, this 16610 stands as both a superb timepiece and excellent collector’s item. Accompanied by its original packaging, hang tags, paperwork and guarantee dated 27/4/09, this Submariner 16610 remains in outstanding condition and perfect working order.
