Rolex Submariner 16610 (Pre-Ceramic Rehaut Bezel) with Box & Papers

The 16610 Submariner Date enjoyed a long production run from 1988 until 2010 when it was discontinued in favour of the newest generation of the Submariner Date- the 116610 model. Introduced to the Rolex catalogue in 1953, the Submariner soon became one of Rolex’s most iconic releases- praised for its robust and utilitarian design. This particular 16610 from 2009 is referred to as the last of the pre-ceramic series, featuring instead an aluminium insert as opposed to the modern ceramic bezel. Furthermore 2007 to 2009 marked a point of transition in the design of the 16610 through the inclusion of the desirable branded rehaut- the ‘ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX’ engraving located just under the crystal around the dial.
