An interesting and certainly unique combination of old and new technology saw the release of the incredible Rolex Oysterquartz in the late ‘70s. Rolex made the decision to combat the Quartz crisis at the end of the 1970s, where Japanese watchmakers supplied the world with vast quantities of Quartz watches, through the release of a Quartz watch of their own which was unique in its design and appeared noticeably different from traditional models. Over its thirty year lifespan in the Rolex catalogue, the Oysterquartz was routinely overlooked in the European market compared to Asia and America. After its production ceased in 2001, demand has increased dramatically as Rolex collectors aspire to add this superb piece to their collection.

This particular model combines a sharp looking steel case and bracelet with a piercing black dial: a design which remains timeless in the present day. Recently serviced, this Oysterquartz is in spectacular condition and is in perfect working order. This rare piece is accompanied by its original paperwork and booklets, indicating a purchase date of 23/7/87.
