Launched in 1970, this impressive Seamaster Ref. 145.023 represents a ground-breaking period of watchmaking, seeing brands adopt flamboyant yet highly functional designs. In true '70s spirit, this reference was a captivating addition to catalogues at the time. This model features a 44.5mm cushion-shaped stainless steel case, coated in tungsten to make this Seamaster scratchproof. Held within is a black dial with blue and white tachymeter scales as well as black and red subdials.

While commanding a presence on the wrist, this Seamaster's incredible design is only uplifted by its mechanical prowess. This watch is powered by the same movement used by the second generation of famous Speedmaster Moonwatches- the Calibre 861 17 jewel 'CHRO C12'.

The desirability of these watches is born of their unqiue design. Released alongside a black and red variant, nicknamed 'Darth Vader' by the Omega faithful, this blue 145.023 version was apdtly referred to as the Sith Lord's former identity, 'Anakin Skywalker'.

This version remains in outstanding condition, with light signs of wear on the sides of the case. Its most recognisable feature, the dial, boasts an almost mint presentation with no signs of aging or patina. Presented on its original stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp (alongside its original box), this rare symbol of '70s excellence from Omega highlights the brands innovative spirit through each era.
