The mid sixties saw the release of a collection of strikingly beautiful yet ultra-clean designs on behalf of IWC whose watches would represent a period of stylistic transition in watchmaking. As this particular stainless steel 804AD model from 1967 illustrates, its large 36.5mm diameter encapsulates the emerging dynamic flavours of ‘70s watchmaking while incorporating a classic minimalist dial with a date window as its primary feature. This watch is a versatile piece, readily able to accompany its owner through daily life or perhaps be reserved for the most important of occasions. Its beautiful display is further accentuated by one of our custom hand-made straps.

With regard to its condition this 804AD reference remains outstanding after fifty-one years of good treatment, evidenced through its accompanying paperwork which shows a service was conducted in 2002. Most importantly this watch comes alongside its original bill of sale, showing its purchase from IWC’s London store dated at 11/1/67. This extraordinary provenance coupled with the watch’s outstanding condition makes this an incredibly rare and special set. It is powered by a Cal 8541 automatic movement and remains in good working order.
