IWC Portuguese Automatic 2000 Limited Editon Watch (Ref. IW5000)

In 2000, IWC marked the new millenium with a new chapter in watchmaking history. It was a chapter that followed on seamlessly from a history last more than 500 years. The Portuguese Automatic 2000 had the honour of ushering in the new millenium, combining old and new IWC technology in a staggering effort. When fully wound, the 5000 calibre movement with its newly designed power reserve display will continue running for a full seven days. This wonderful example of watchmaker's art, available from retailers in platinum, rose gold and stainless steel was designed to accompany its owner every day. This reference was limited to 1000 models (numbered #516 in the series) and is made from stainless steel with a black 'reverse panda' configuration and a black crocodile leather strap. Alongside its impressive power reserve display is a small seconds with stop function, precision adjustment, Breguet balance spring, rotor with 18ct gold medallion and a sapphire case back.
